European Market Close Lower While Global Stocks Aim for New Highs.

European stocks were in retreat on Thursday as global markets sought to achieve new record highs by year’s end.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 index finished down 0.1%; health care stocks saw gains of 0.6%, while banks experienced losses of 0.5%.
